“I lived and worked in France for a number of years. And my love for the country and its people has never gone away. I often hear people say: ‘France is such a great country, just a pity about all the French.’ This is something that makes me cringe. The fact that the French are so misunderstood really pains me. This is so often the attitude, even though France offers many business opportunities.

We’re talking about France here, but this actually applies to a lot of other countries too. If we were to engage more with each other, there would be a lot less frustration. After all, the world out there offers greater opportunities, greater enjoyment and greater profitability.

That’s why I’m happy to contribute by helping companies and people and giving them insight through international recruitment. I consider it a challenge to be able to sense what a company or person needs. And I’m happy when I succeed in finding the right person or receive the opportunity to provide (greater) intercultural insight and create understanding. I’m even more delighted when I see long-term happy cooperation that yields results.”

‘I lived and worked in Belgium for more than 10 years. And for more than 5 years, I spent a lot of time in Germany working with 200 German colleagues. These experiences gave me the opportunity to learn the languages and cultures of both these countries. This was a highly educational period in my life, and I still benefit from it every day now.

During this period, I also experienced cultural differences for myself. I noticed that these differences are often perceived as annoying and frequently cause misunderstandings and frustration. It’s a great shame, because I actually experienced the great joy that intercultural cooperation can bring. If only we did our best to connect and bridge our differences.
Differences in culture and methods of business can mean that earning trust and doing business on the international scene can be a major challenge. That’s why I recommend that my customers use local sales professionals.

I believe that this is the best way of achieving lasting international sales success. I find it very satisfying to find the perfect match between my customers and international sales persons. The search, the inspiring interviews, the intercultural coaching… None of it is ever boring.

To sum it up, I love contributing to the international sales success of our customers and candidates. That is why I’ve passionately done this job for more than 15 years.’

German through my mother, Tunisian through my father, French by nationality: I have always been immersed in a multicultural world. So, after a two-year journey in Australia after finishing my studies, I didn’t hesitate long when the opportunity to live in the Netherlands presented itself!

I immediately dove into what I do best: connecting different cultures, building bridges between diverse worlds, and switching from one language to another. The translation world in the Netherlands naturally opened up to me and kept me busy for several years. I helped companies grow in a foreign country by transcribing and localizing their brand, services, and identity into the local language.
Starting a sentence in French, sprinkling it with Dutch words, and finishing in English is part of my everyday life. This sometimes leads to amusing situations and often brings laughter from my friends.

What surprises me every time is how often we tend to misinterpret the reactions of someone from a different nationality. If we took the time to put ourselves in the other person’s shoes, to understand their context and cultural codes, we would be able to communicate better.

Oryx allows me to leverage my cultural and professional background for the benefit of expanding companies and to foster sustainable collaboration between people from different cultural contexts.

I truly believe that the blending of cultures can only enrich everyone.

I have Belgian roots, but thanks to my parents, who often traveled for work to attend international conferences, I was exposed to different cultures from an early age. Their stories about the countries they visited and the people they met there sparked my passion for languages and cultural diversity.

I later studied German and Italian, where I learned a lot about communication and the power of cultural diversity. My work experience as a flight attendant further enhanced this knowledge. In that role, I not only worked with people from diverse backgrounds, but also learned to recognize and embrace cultural differences.

My personal life has also deepened my openness to different cultures. My boyfriend has Turkish roots, my brother lives in the Netherlands and my sister works in Germany. This makes it natural for me to appreciate and understand different backgrounds.
